In the Pink!

There's something about the color pink that's terrifically soothing, calm and peaceful.

It also evokes feelings of happiness.

Pink is definitely my favorite color.

Throughout a couple of decades, cranberry glass has been one of my favorite collections.

My late mother gave me some of the very first pieces, so many years ago, since she knew I loved it so much.

Lately, some of the pieces have been  displayed along the fireplace mantel.

The newest find sits on top of the tv cabinet (along with lots of angels that I cannot bear to pack away.)

There's lots of pink in the living room besides the cranberry glass so it fits right in.

Today we are joining Home and Garden Thursday on Kathy's blog, A Delightsome Life.

Stop by her blog and check out all the great entries.

WHAT COLOR HAS THE MOST INFLUENCE ON YOUR MOOD?

I was a teacher's assistant for 15 years and we had to take classes. I took one on colors and what it did for children. Pink in a doctor's office was calming. Also if they gave the children a pink piece of paper to put under their test they seemed to score better.
Colors do have an influence.

My color is now that sea moss green - I have that every where here - and it makes me calm and happy.

Hi Susan,
I love burgundy. It's the main colour in my bedroom and it is scattered through out my house. My car is burgundy and so is my purse. Just looking at the colour makes me happy. I've been trying to find some dark red shoes.
And I love cranberry glass. It's just very hard to find.
Bye for now, Darlene

Red. Alive.
Pink. Fragrant.
Green. Refreshing.
Brown. Secure.
Any and all variations of those colours and life is good.

Love your cranberry glass.

Very pretty! I love all your pink!!! For years I had an earthy color scheme in my home. I was so glad when we were able to replace the carpets and now I can have PINK in my home too!

Hello from Spain: the pink color is very pretty and elegant. I like that tone in decorating my house. I have two young daughters and they love the color pink. The rooms are painted in that color. Keep in touch

If I had known pink paper would help kids with taking tests, I would have given my oldest son some for all his high school years. Ha! :)

Came across this blog today:

All about miniatures.

Hi Susan. Thank you for you kind and sweet comments to me and now I am returning the favor. Your cranberry glass is just beautiful, it's always been a favorite of mine. I have one piece that an elderly friend of long ago gave me when I used to clean her house. I broke the lid while dusting so she gave me the bottom. It is very pretty and heavy. I have always loved pink but when my daughter became a breast cancer survivor I just started using it and now I have a lot too..Happy Wednesday..Judy

I am not particularly fond of pink, but your cranberry glass is quite lovely. The colors that makes me feel best are a pale aqua or lavender, but I really enjoy red, for fun! Of course, when our daughter was a child, I did find the "perfect" pink dress, with lace, ruffles, and a tiered long skirt. She wore it for quite a while before we passed it on to another pretty little girl. :-)

Oh! I love the pink, Susan! I really like shades of blue and pink - with a bit of white - when decorating. The blue and white have a calming effect on me.:-)

I love your cranberry glass collection and always enjoy seeing each piece! The first photo in this post is just gorgeous!

My mood is influenced by light and so my favorite color is white. I like to accent with color but usually against a white background.

Pink looks beautiful in your home. The cranberry glass is just the right touch. I think your room is calming and elegant in it;s pink color. I love to look at bright and cheerful color and may incorporate it into my art soon but for my home I like natural and primitive colors.
