BREAKFAST!!!!!!!!!

Usually, breakfast is a bowl of Special K cereal with red berries and coffee.

It's simple, good, and delicious.

When guests arrive, however, breakfast changes.

It's a meal to start the day so it's got to be good.

Plus, with guests and busy schedules with everyone on-the-move, breakfast provides energy needed for each fun day ahead!

This wonderful week that we have been blessed with special guests, I've tried especially hard to serve nice breakfasts.

Each one included fresh fruit, orange juice, iced lemon water and, coffee, of course.

Also, pretty tablecloths and candlelight!

We've had eggs with bacon, freshly baked bran muffins, eggs with sausage links, freshly baked corn muffins, eggs with ham and on Friday, pancakes with New England blueberries, Vermont maple syrup and sausage links.

Now ordinarily, we do not eat bacon, sausage or ham frequently so it's back to our regular routine starting tomorrow.

Our sweet guests left today at 6 a.m.

Godspeed.

DO YOU ENJOY GUESTS OFTEN IN YOUR HOME?

I love a yummy breakfast, just don't like to cook it! Not too many guests in my home.

Hi Susan! My brother is coming to visit this week, and I was trying to think of what I should serve. These ideas are just perfect!

Normally, he eats very healthy and runs all the time, but when he visits, he throws caution to the wind, so bacon would be just fine for him.

I do enjoy guests in the home, we don't have them enough. I do stress a little about entertaining them, but I never had to worry about it in reality. It's just in my head!

Have a great weekend!

Oh my the breakfasts on the tour ship I just took were fantastic..anything and everything you could possibly want. I never eat that much for breakfast but I did sample some fantastic things. Your breakfast looks great too Susan. I do not have overnight guests very often at all.

Susan you and my friend Jean are the best hostesses I have ever known. She does not have a blog - we have been friends for 30+ years. But you two would get a long so well. You both are angels. And I mean it. sandie

Susan,
Thank you for your comment on my anniversary post. It really meant a lot to me. I actually didn't take the picture of the broken heart, but the rest are all mine.

Oh, this is a yummy breakfast. I love sausage, but don't eat it too often. You know, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day.

Love,
~Sheri

Lovely breakfasts...wish I could have been there. Know what you mean about getting back to normal...been away from home for two days and it was gluten and carbs all the way. MUST do right tomorrow!

Breakfast sounds yummy and so healthy too! I had once thought we should run a B & B in a big old house filled with antiques but I not see the amount of work it would take and I am enjoying retirement too much. Have a great weekend.

Hi Susan,
Wow your guests must have been happy! Your table is set so nicely. We don't ever have overnight guests. It would be fun if we did every now and then.
