A Star in the Night

This year something new has been added to our backyard.

Thought it would be nice to have an outdoor manger scene.

Hubs is a saver of every scrap of anything so there was no need to buy a single thing except a star for the top!

 Now that's a thrifty project!

I had white ceramic figures made by a dear friend many, many years ago and decided to use them for the outdoor creche.

Hubs did a super job making a cave-like enclosure.

He recently added a string of white lights and the star!

I put lighted candles out each night, too.

It's so wonderful to look out of the kitchen window and see this simple yet beautiful creche lighting up the darkness of the night!

It reminds me of that holy night so long ago that forever changed the world.

DO YOU HAVE AN OUTDOOR MANGER SCENE?

I love this! What a great idea. I don't have an outdoor Nativity either, but I do have two sets of figures that my Aunt made and they look so much like yours. Thanks for sharing this idea at TTF!

No I do not have an outdoor manger scene. Our town has a huge one on La Paz road that is beautiful to drive by and look at. I'm sure you and your husband will enjoy many nights looking out at yours...great job!

Hi Susan,

That looks really nice :)We could never have something like that out here due to the strong winds we have at times. Enjoy your weekend!

Lovely outdoor manager scene. I'm sure the snow we are supposed to get tonight will just add to the beauty of it.

We do not have an outdoor manger scene, but I am looking forward to arranging my indoor manger which I have had since my son's first Christmas in 1978. Seems only yesterday I was telling him the story of that very first Christmas.....

Hello from Spain: beautiful pictures of your crib outdoors. I like the lighting. I do not decorate my garden because it always rains and windy at this time of year. Keep in touch
