Last Day of 2013--Bye Bye

It's true that the ending of one year and the start of another puts most of us in very pensive moods.

It makes me want to write down what things  I would most like to see come to fruition in 2014.

As the year ebbs to an end, I also yearn to start taking down Christmas decor.

The happy, twinkling decorations will soon be packed away.

Instead of jam-packed surfaces, I like to see empty spaces.

Polished wood and bareness on counter and dresser tops make me happy the first month of the new year.

As  holiday decor is packed away and hauled up into the attic, I cannot help but feel a bit nostalgic.

Thoughts of what might happen in the new year, not always good, usually cross  my mind.

That's when I have to swing into concentrating on the moment at hand. After all, that's all we've got.

ON THIS EVE OF THE NEW YEAR, DO YOU WANT TO SHARE ONE PERSONAL THING YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN IN 2014 ?

There are so many wishes I have for the New Year it's hard to just pick one. I would like to see more understanding, more patience and more acceptance among all who inhabit this difficult and challenging world we live in. I will try to do my part in fostering these goals.

2014! wow! Happy New Year to you and yours, Susan. I look forward to reading your wonderful blog.

Always one of my on-going wishes is for better organizational skills.:-) That seems to have eluded me all my long years.:-)

I send you wishes for peace and joy, Susan, which is my wish for all!

In my old age I just take one day at a time. Would like family harmony in the new year.

It sounds like you & I are thinking like regarding taking down Christmas decorations, leaving things clean and bare, ready for what the new year will bring, and also pondering just what it will bring. Every year seems to begin as a clean slate, but of course the slate always contains things from the previous year and our past. I always hope my thinking on these things will contain past experiences combined with future hopes, and will add up to an even better year than the past. I have been fooled though, and often.

My hopes and dreams for this coming year are more realistic, may I be ready for anything and hopeful the outcome is worthy of my faith and my family, no matter the cost.

Happy New Year my friend.
I will practice on having more faith I think. We do tend to be caught up in the turmoils around us sometimes. Which makes it hard to rise above it.
Hope you'll have a fantastic 2014

Hugs,
Eva
