Memorable Gathering at a Friend's House

Lovely decorations, including Victorian rose-covered trees, good friends and a fabulous buffet all result in a fun and memorable brunch.

A dear friend, Christine, recently  hosted a totally delightful gathering that blasted the blahs of winter.

Instead of just flowered paper plates, Christine glued them onto larger clear plastic plates.

They were much more sturdy and easy to handle.

What a great  idea!

She graciously agreed to share her home with readers of this blog.

A top-notch hostess, Christine must have worked for days decorating, cooking and setting up for guests.

An artist whose varied and unique paintings belong in a gallery, she also put decorative touches all over her charming home.

Many of them were floral bouquet such as these:

She created all kinds of little vignettes in every nook and cranny.

Christine loves picking up treasures in antique as well as thrift shops and uses them to brighten table tops, corners and counters.

Here she is, herself,  ebullient " hostess with the mostess."

Some of the brunch offerings Chris prepared will be shown on tomorrow's  post so please stop by again!

Christine is a terrific gourmet cook so you are in for quite a treat!

DO YOU ENJOY GOING TO BRUNCH?

Oh how lucky you gals are, to have a wonderful and generous friend like this! She is a Treasure.

Everything is so lovely... The first photo took-my-breath-away, when I viewed it!

Please tell Christine that she is a beautiful lady. Looks like she is also lots of fun. And I am sooooooo *jealous* of her curly hair. It is purrrrrrrrrrrrfect.

Gentle hugs,
Tessa~

Hi Susan,
Wow, what beautiful brunch decorating that was. I really like that first tree and that Victorian chair! Pretty!
Thanks for sharing her home with us.
I hope you'll come by for a visit, I posted an update on the blue farmhouse. :)
Have a great day,
Gina

Great idea for the paper plates as they can be a bit flimsy. Loved the rose covered ones she had for the brunch. All the little "vignettes" must have been so enjoyable. Good way to spend time in these waning days of a New England winter.

I do like brunch, but don't seem to go to many. I think the last was in New Hampshire for a baby shower for my daughter-in-law. It was in a restored mill which featured brick walls and hardwood floors with huge windows looking out on the river. The tablecloths were mauve and each table featured a beautiful pine and winterberry arrangement. The brunch was delicious and my daughter-in-law was just "glowing". Happy memory.

Brunch is my favorite meal :)
And winter brunch must be the best-est types of brunch.
And lunch in such a lovely setting with friends would be better than best-est!

Thanks for sharing your brunch date pictures. What a great idea to stick those paper plates onto sturdier ones. Brilliant!
