Happy Monday morning, dear sweet blog peeps:
During the weekend, I reached into a cupboard to pull out a vox of golden vanilla cake mix and there was not a single one left.
Drat. Company was coming and I wanted to have something to serve them.
So I ran to the computer, found a recipe for Golden Vanilla Cake at this link and gave it a shot.
I opened a can of strawberry rhubarb pie filling that was on hand, spread it over the top of the cake, marbled it through the batter and popped it into the oven.
It was delicious and came out great.

It got rave reviews and could not possibly have been easier.
By the way, it was a lot better than a boxed mix cake!

My favorite dessert to make quickly is a milk shake with banana, picnh of sugar and may be vanilla essense.
I don't bake much at all, so I have no favorite bakign recipe :)

I had no Iidea they made strawberry-rhubarb filling. I've been patiently awaiting the arrival of fresh rhubarb in the market. This cake looks amazing! XOXO

Look at the list of this recipe ingredients... Simple, known ingredients...
Look at the total list of ingredients, on a cake mix box... All of them, the ones you can't pronounce too. And note stuff like partially hydrogenated oils.. Ugh! And high fructose corn syrup.. Ugh!
PLEASE, make things "from scratch". No matter if it takes a few minutes longer....

Never ever buy boxed anything. Honestly, we have this insane belief that boxed is easier, but as you have just proven, it is so easy to whip something together with ingredients you have on hand. At least you know what's going into the mix and there's no additives and chemicals that don't need to be there. So much nicer knowing you made it yourself. :) Have a great week. Tammy
I love strawberry rhubarb pie so I'm sure I'd enjoy the cake even though I'm not a cake lover. My favorite quick dessert is any kind of pudding.
I sometimes use the Internet to find some interesting recipes. In m,y point of view you are gifted at cooking.

My favourite quick dessert is Ice Cream.. on it's own or with fruit or biscuits or cake ... or whatever you like ... even breakfast cereal.....Ice Cream makes me smile...
