(My father grew many kinds of flowers, including purple iris so these photos of irises, bathed in sunshine, in my own garden are dedicated in his memory.)
A most blessed Father's Day wish to dads and father figures everywhere!
It is my sincerest hope that you know how special and important you are in the lives of your children.
For those of us who were blessed with knowing our fathers, this day may be filled with joy or tinged with sadness, depending on whether our dads are still alive.
My father died in 1989 and life has never been the same since.
Every holiday, as we gather around the table, I miss his presence .
His corny jokes and his laughter have been silenced.
The love he had for his five daughters has now been turned into memories as sweet and precious as a newborn baby.
(This is my favorite spot in the backyard. I love to sit near the fountain, listen to the trickling water and think about all the good things life brings.)
My father lives in my heart and I try to live all of the good things he taught me----kindness to others, hard work ethic, faith in the Lord, generosity and the importance of a sense of humor.
My father, like human beings everywhere, was not perfect but he was a good and decent man who I loved with all my heart.
To you, Daddy, and to daddies everywhere, have a beautiful day.
WHAT WAS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOUR FATHER OR FATHER FIGURE TAUGHT YOU?

Well since we share the same Father I will echo all the things you said Susan!
Oh, Susan, I miss my father too. He taught me so much - by his actions mostly. His favorite quote? "To thine own self be true." But he taught me so much more...I miss him terribly. He died in 2001, just 2 days after I met my husband. My girlfriend said it's as if a guardian angel sent Tim to watch over me. Funny too, how his personality is so much like my Dad's was! Happy Father's Day to you ... in memory of our dear fathers.
Great post about your father.
Very nice to read such a lovely post about your dad.
Susan I use to follow you but when I lost my readers list I lost a lot of my favorite blogs.
I am now following you again.
Hello from Spain: I adored my father. My father taught me to be a good person and working to achieve my dreams. He was a very positive person. Unfortunately, he died young because of cancer. I could never get over his loss and I went over to church to endure pain.Keep in touch
Dear Susan,
what a special post about your Dad.
Love your little garden spot, what a beautiful place to sit and remember.
Blessings and Sunshine, Valerie
Love your beautiful post, Susan. ♥ My dad is still here with us, thank goodness. He always did his best to provide well for 7 children. We always had laughter in our home.♥
