Work for Justice

On this day before Martin Luther King's birthday, my thoughts turn to him and all he stood for.

He was a man who put the sorrows and struggles of others before his own.

Despite a great deal of suffering, he never lost hope for a better society and world.

In harboring a dream, he gave hope to others.

He died tragically but not in vain.

While a lot of progress between races has taken place since then, so much more needs to be done.

We cannot stand by and do nothing because we are all part of the same human family.

HOW DO YOU THINK ONE INDIVIDUAL CAN HELP TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE?

Hello from Spain: all men and women should defend peace and equality. I liked seeing your photos of the church. I really like those images of God. Keep in touch

I agree. But I think that sometimes people today miss the 'non violent' resistance part of Dr. King's message, his belief in 'a courageous confrontation of evil by the power of love.' I would love to see a return to those values in the demonstrations today.

I agree with you and Judy - one person can make a difference - at least years ago - I would love to see us doing something like that today too.

Note only can one person improve our world, one person can also damage our world. Sad but true. This church is gorgeous!
