Yippah, Spring Has Sprung!

Now that spring is here in New England, it's time to have some fun.

With the sun bathing everything in golden light, getting outdoors refreshes and rejuvenates.

Spring signifies so many things---new life, flowers, birds singing and even a little bit of adventure.

This week I took a one-day excursion to a city an hour's drive away.

It was so great to have a change of scene.

Part of the fun was a stop at Saver's, one of my favorite thrift stores.

All purchases support Big Brothers/Big Sisters, a really good organization that does needed and valuable work with children.

Even listening to music on the way down was pleasant.

"Smoky Mountain" country instrumentals, Eva Cassidy's silky renditions of old favorites, and rhythm-filled blasts from "Cuba Si,"  made the driving rather enjoyable.

A nice lunch out, the purchase of some "new" clothes and good music all made for a memorable, happy day!

DO YOU LIKE TO GO ON DAY TRIPS?   IF YES, WHERE?

Let's hear it for spring. YEAH warmer temps. A change of scenery always lifts the spirits. And a little thrifting too.

Wish we had a Saver's here - heard it is a great store. Where are your clothes? I am glad you had a wonderful day out.

One of my daughter's favorite thrift shops. I am still partial to Goodwill. Spring is in the air here, too. Enjoy your weekend.

Day trips are fun; never heard of Savers but it sounds great.

This time of year it's fun just to take a ride in the countryside, isn't it? Nice to be able to have the windows down and smell the fresh smell of Spring on the wind and to see the "greening up" of the landscape....

Sounds like fun. An hour's drive would land me in the desert and near either the Saudi or Iraq border. No daytripping around here. Ha! Glad to hear Spring as sprung in your corner of the world. My college boy drove to Denver on Friday with a friend for an outdoor concert yesterday that was cancelled because of the winter storm. Just hope conditions are good for them to drive back today. Happy Sunday!

I love day trips! I enjoy sightseeing in very small towns. The little center of business usually has a wonderful shop or two where you can pick up a memento of the visit.

Yes I do! Went on a day trip with my Emily and we traveled down the Bitterroot Valley.
My oldest is in your neck of the woods on business. She is loving New England. :) Kit
