New Year Thoughts

So many thoughts go through the mind when a new year rolls around.

Is it that way for you, too?

Around here, resolutions are no longer part of a new year's ritual.  Instead, I like to think of goals that could "possibly" be accomplished.

One of them this year is to let go of things such as some books that haven't been touched in years and dolls in a way-too-big collection.

Below, the books shown are pretty much just cookbooks:

The dolls shown at the top of the post and below are just a teeny tiny portion of the overall collection. These, mostly dressed in red, came down to the dining room for Christmas:

This little sweetie pie has a big gash on her face that occurred once when she fell hard against the floor.  What if she leaves our house and someone throws her into the trash because she's not perfect?

It's so hard to cut down on our collections!

There are many Christmas decorations, too, that should be given away because there are just too many to put out all at once.

Another lofty goal is to get rid of sugar in my diet and attempt to eat in a more healthy manner.

Looks like there will be plenty of things to take action on in 2019.

HOW ABOUT YOU?  WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN THIS YEAR?

My one goal this year to have my garage cleaned out. I have no attic and tons of stuff in the garage. Someone volunteered to help me and I will pay them so that is what I want accomplished in this coming year. It will be wonderful to have a clean garage. Glad you are downsizing on your collections.

We all need to get rid of things don't we?
My goal is to read the bible five minutes a day.

It's always nice to de-clutter, especially if we don't use some of the items in our home. I can see why you can't part with that doll - she's such a beauty. Chips and breaks used to bother me, but now I don't mind them.....they remind me that we have imperfections, and we are still beautiful with them. Sounds like you have a nice list of goals for the new year, Susan. : )

love, ~Sheri
