Sorting Through Christmas Decorations

Christmas has always been a very favorite holiday.

Throughout many decades, collecting Christmas decorations has been a most delightful past time.

Living in a large home, there was plenty of space as well as rooms to decorate.

Christmas, 2024, is far different.

Now, there is just a small apartment to decorate and very little space.

Consequently, many of the Christmas decorations collected throughout the years, have to go.

While sorting through them this season, it's been very hard to decide which ones to keep and which ones to let go.

The ones in this post are, hopefully, keepers.

This little pond with penguins is among the favorites and it's a music box, too.

The tiny penguins on top of the "lake" twirl around and around.

The little reindeer with the antlers never fails to make people smile.

There are colorful ornaments hanging from his antlers.

HAVE YOU EVER HAD TO DOWNSIZE?  HOW DID YOU HANDLE IT?

Love those dishes. Glad you’re keeping them. I feel I am always downsizing. As I get older I do not like clutter - but it is still hard to get rid of things. My husband suggested each year rotate so each year is something new.

That little reindeer with the colorful antlers is delightful, Susan. I can see why he's a keeper. And I love that ceramic Christmas tree with the lights. It reminds me of one I had that was all white with red lights. Your Pink wreath is very pretty too. Yes, every year it seems I go through the ornaments and see if there's any I need to donate. This year, one of the snow globes broke, and water was dripping, so I had to toss it out. But it was hard to say good-by cause Jess gave it to me years ago. I know what you mean about downsizing, Susan. It's sometimes hard to part with these cherished items we've had for years. Sounds like you're doing a great job though. Your candle looks so cozy on your counter.
