This, Too, Shall Pass
Just like the multi-colored leaves of a forest in autumn, life is a mixture of all kinds of happenings.
When we wake up in the morning and can walk to a window to see the sunlight, that is a good thing. Each new day holds the promise of positive things to come.
Even on the upbeat days, however, there can be brief intervals of difficulty, disappointment, or plain discouragement. They are all part of life.
We can hope for the best but when it doesn't come, it's all we can do to hang on for dear life. Or should we?
Like the last leaf on a tree branch, struggling to be set free, sometimes the best thing to do is let go.
As a leaf tumbles from a tree, it's picked up by a blast of wind and soars to freedom before it disappears from sight.
At times, we must be like the autumn leaves. When the going gets rough, sometimes the only thing we can do is let go.
No difficulty lasts forever.
We have disappointments but we get over them.
The autumn trees will soon stand stark and bare against a winter sky. Icy winds will come and snow will swirl in blinding patterns, covering everything with white.
But eventually, tiny buds will form on trees once again. Green will burst forth from the seemingly dead, skeletal branches.
All winter seasons end and spring comes again.
If you are experiencing disappointment or frustration in your life at this moment, why not just let go?
It's really true that each difficult moment passes and sunlight will burst through.
We must just wait, be patient, hope, and then, let go.
HOW DO YOU GET THROUGH LIFE'S DIFFICULT MOMENTS?

Roger Williams died recently. His recording of "Autumn Leaves" sold millions of copies and set a record. Think about this song when you have difficulties...the autumn leaves drift by my window..etc. Music helps to soothe the soul.
I've learned to let go. Nothing stays the same or lasts forever. That is the cycle and circle of life. Hard for many to grasp but certain reality. My favorite quotation "Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but gets you nowhere." All we have is this moment. Have a beautiful day. Tammy
Your post was so beautiful. I love the visual of the autumn leaves.
Sometimes the only option we have is to let go, but that in it self is hard to do.Have a beautiful Sunday.
Lovely post, Susan. There is a poem I like, Let Go and Let God.
Soothing and meaningful post...so right for this season of endings. Autumn is bittersweet for sure.
I love this post today - just what I needed. The seasons don't last and neither do troubles! sandie
I'm learning to let go.
