Father Christmas, Bring Us Light

Candlelight is beautiful any time of the year but especially at Christmas.

I like to burn scented candles that make any room smell wonderful.

In one room downstairs, the Father Christmas figure shown at the top of this post sits on a counter.

Light from a tea light inside pours through the stars in his white coat.

Light pours from another Father, as well--- our Heavenly Father.

In one song we've often sung at church, the words dance in my head:

"He is the light of the world, let Him shine down upon us..."

This holiday season, amid the hustle and the bustle, let's take time to feel His light pouring down upon us, filling us with unparalleled peace, serenity and love.

HOW DO YOU BRING LIGHT INTO YOUR LIFE?

Love the Santa...this year I bought more battery candles with timers. I have them all set to come on at dusk. It is nice not to have to worry about the flames and just a pretty. For fragrance I still burn a real candle...one at a time in the room I am in...Light is the word this year!

Hi Susan,

Holiday dinners MUST flicker with many candles.

(Our power went out during our Thanksgiving dinner)

We didn't mind at all.

*hugs*

I think candle light is magical, but I much prefer it when the electricity isn't off because of a storm! A few years ago, we lost power for 9 days and even with every room lit with candles, it was so dark outside, I couldn't read, knit or do my crossword puzzles. I love your lit Father Christmas; he does have a "glow" about him that is so welcoming. XOXO

I bring light into my life each morning when I do my daily devotions. There is NO substitute for the TRUE Light, which lights the whole world with His love! I do enjoy the romance and quietness of a candlelit room occasionally, just for the lovely, peaceful atmosphere.

I can have real candles here because I have an 11 year old here. LOL. But I have lots of candles that you turn on from the bottom and they light up.
I hope you had a nice weekend. sandie

Candle light, lamplight, and now...Christmas lights!
I figured out a few months ago that we are attracted to light because it is but a dim reflection of His Light!
