Tomato Plants In-Process

Last summer, we had a grape tomato plant on the back porch railing.

It was such a generous little plant that yielded dozens upon dozens of yummy red baby tomatoes.

Little visitors to our home delighted in plucking the ripe tomatoes.

So this summer, we have three tomato plants!

Hopefully, they will yield different sizes of the fruit (which I consider a vegetable.)

There is nothing in the world like a fresh, sun-warmed tomato.

HOW DO YOU LIKE TO EAT TOMATOES?

I love tomatoes - have you ever toasted two pieces of bread - add a little mayo - lettuce and tomato slices - yummy!

I love fresh tomatoes off the vine. Our little grape tomatoes are yielding a few this year and they are so good.

Our garden tomatoes are producing abundant harvests right now (I planted them outdoors at the end of April) so I'm looking towards the possibility of canning which is something I've never done but I don't want to waste their goodness. :)

Definitely right off the vine...the taste is the very best. I loved eating them right from the garden as a Kid....Enjoy yours.

Susan, your post hit home for me because just yesterday I got a tomato from my fridge and put a little salt on it and ate it just plain. Your tomato plants are going to be nice this summer.....you're right, there's just nothing like homegrown tomatoes. Be sure to show us your plants when they start to grow. : )

Our vines are loaded and soon we will not be able to eat enough. We always share with the birds and squirrel thieves.
