Touches of Autumn

Little by little, the house is getting decorated for autumn.

Without a doubt, it is my favorite season so why not celebrate it to the hilt?

Witchy and the pumpkins are in the downstairs bathroom. Closer to Halloween, the pumpkins will be turned around to see their faces.

On the kitchen windowsills, in addition to amber glass, are two solar-operated creatures.

Here's one below and the other one is shown at the top of this post:

They move and dance back and forth when the sun hits and they are so darned cute.

The kitchen knick knack rack is very "festivas" but that's a post for another day!

In the hall, gladioli make a sumptuous sight.  They are silk ones but you'd never know it by looking at them!

A happy little fella hangs on the hall door.

Out on the front porch, black lantern has a leaf garland wrapped around its post.

WHAT SMELLS DO YOU EQUATE WITH AUTUMN?

Even tho Halloween is kind of a pagan holiday I still love the decorations - the colors - the candy - the kids - and the fun. My favorite season. I equate with it wonderful temperatures!

The scent of burning leaves comes to mind. When I was a little girl, my grandpa burned piles of leaves at the curb in the gutter. And of course candles at this time of year make me feel nostalgic.

I like the smell of pumpkin pie and gingerbread.
This year Halloween will be so different. Here there will be no Trick or Treating or anything of that sort...no parades ...Boo hoo.
