Sunday Thoughts

Here we are, on the Sunday before Thanksgiving Day.

Most of us have soooooo much to be thankful to God for.

Places to live, healthy children, laughter, food every day, ability to pay our bills, looking forward to Thursday and then to Christmas.

And, of course, we are thankful for faith that helps us, more than anything else,  along our life journeys.

The little angel at the top of this post reminds me to remember the reason for the Christmas season, our Lord, Jesus.

He is also the greatest giver on Thanksgiving.

I hope your Sunday, and both holidays ahead, are super blessed.

Sunday Thoughts

Today, it is hoped that you find great peace filling your heart.

Also, I hope immense joy washes over you.

I pray that each moment of this day of life will lift your spirit and make you want to sing.

If we concentrate on the positive, more than likely it will be our reward.

Life goes by quickly.

Most of us can agree with an old song's lyrics..."Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think."

Sunday Thoughts

It seems like August flew by and September whisked in like the wind.

Here we are in a brand new month that is full speed ahead toward my very favorite season of all------autumn.

Summer is definitely on the wane.

Because I am a cold weather girl, turning off the air-conditioner and opening the screen door to fresh air from outside sounds good to me.

There's even a tree nearby that has leaves turning color. Oh boy. Ready or not, here comes fall.

Today, it is my hope you will find peace and tranquility.

Sunday Thoughts

This is the second Sunday of Advent for Christians.

Advent is the time to prepare for celebration of the Baby Jesus's birth.

Time is racing by whether we want it to or not.

That first week of Advent went by in a flash.

By now, many people have already decorated their spaces for the upcoming Christmas holiday.

Among the most important decorations are manger scenes.

These help remind us of the real reason for the season.

They teach little children that Christmas is much more than just waiting for Santa to bring gifts.

May your day today be blessed with peace and deep contentment as we move forward into the magical and memory-making events of the holidays.

Sunday Thoughts

Torrential, cold rain is falling as this post is being written.

The wind chimes, out on the back porch, are tingling like crazy.

Wind is whipping the trees, causing hundreds of leaves to flutter to the ground.

It's a day in New England where one must make one's own sunshine.

I'll leave you with that wish-----for sunshine in your heart, mind, and spirit.

Will accompany that wish with some foliage shots that are soon to be forgotten!  (Just like any troubles or sorrows we have.)

The photos were taken on a day when the sun shone brightly,

Acceptance

\

Spring is having a hard time springing in northwestern Massachusetts.

We had many lovely, warm days and daffodils started popping up.

Today, however, there is snow!  Go figure.

The best thing we can do about such occurrences is accept them.

We sure cannot change them so why get frustrated and discouraged?

Truly, I hope your day is very blessed.

It's a very special baptismal day for our family and we couldn't be more thrilled and grateful to the Lord.

Angels We Have Heard on High....

The first Sunday in the Christmas season is here!

It's a busy time of year, that's for sure.

Always I have heard that the older one got, the faster time sped by.

Well, even though I doubted that statement, it seems to have come true.

The days really do go by in a flash.

But each day is precious. Each day is an appreciated gift.

With that perspective, life, despite all its difficulties, is good.

It is my sincere hope that your day today will be blessed by the angels!

A Day of Peace and Love

On this Sunday, may you have moments of peace and may love fill your heart.

Whenever guests arrive and there is a whirlwind of activities, there is a tendency to get very tired.

Right now, we have eight house guests from out-of-town!

However, I try very hard to realize that these moments with friends and family are extremely precious.

Memories are being made and that is all that really counts.

There will be time again for relaxation and rest.

But for now, I plan to relish each second and be thankful for memories-in-the-making.

Wishes for a Gentle Sunday

It's a bright and sunny Sunday but temps are very chilly.

There're predictions of yet another snowy storm but they don't bother me.

It's winter in New England, after all.

So today, this first day of February, I just want you, dear reader, to know that my wishes are for you to have a gentle, happy and peaceful day.

Cherish the company of those you love.

Find something to smile about.

Enjoy each bite of food, each sound of laughter and each moment of life that comes your way today.

Getting older definitely has its advantages.

One of them is to appreciate just being alive!

Vacation's Almost Over

This is the last day of what has been a splendorous Christmas vacation.

I still worked a couple of my part-time jobs but kept my schedule quite flexible.

Tomorrow the regular routine resumes.

Yesterday I spent most of the day dismantling Christmas decorations.

Did I finish?  Nooooo,  not by a long shot but I got a good jump start on the rather onerous task.

A letter to the editor in yesterday's daily newspaper made me sad.

It was written by a neighbor whose cat was killed Christmas night by a hit and run driver right on our street.

He had let the kitty out to get a breath of fresh "snow less" air and 20 minutes later, some cruel person smashed a car into him and left him dead in the street.

Reading the letter out loud to my hubs, my voice cracked up and tears filled my eyes.

Why do things like that happen?  That poor little kitty was just crossing the street and didn't deserve to die such a cruel death.

The driver didn't even bother to stop and investigate. He or she just took off like a "coward," as the letter writer stated.  I agree.  That was a most cowardly thing to do.

In tragic life moments like this, all we can do is turn over our sadness and not give up on humankind.

He Came for Us

Every time I find myself inside a huge church with statues, crucifixes and stained glass windows, my heart fills with love.

My thoughts go straight to Jesus, who came to this earth to make it a better place.

Because of Him, we have so much beauty, peace, serenity and true riches in our lives, no matter what our bank account balance is.

Today, if Christ is part of your life, why not spend a few moments just with Him?
